Lars Konermann

The University of Western Ontario, Canada
Professor, Department of Chemistry, The University of Western Ontario (London, Canada). He has received many awards including Distinguished Research Professor (2016-2017), Outstanding Reviewer Award, J. Am. Soc. Mass Spectrom. (2015). Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching (2015). W.A.E. McBryde Medal, Canadian Society for Chemistry (2014). Fred Lossing Award, Canadian Society for Mass Spectrometry (2013). His laboratory explores the folding, structure, function and dynamics of proteins. Most of his work is based on the use of electrospray mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). Researchers working in his laboratory also have access to a wide range of other biophysical techniques, including high-field NMR, fluorescence, circular dichroism, UV-VIS, and stopped-flow spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), analytical ultracentrifugation, surface-plasmon resonance (Biacore), and many others. A nanofabrication facility for the development of microfluidic devices is also available.
